The BWT Mücke Motorsport driver won qualifying for round two of the Prototype Cup Germany at the Nürburgring. Four Duqueine in the top five.

It was exciting: The qualifying for Sunday's Prototype Cup Germany race at the Nürburgring was really close. It was not until the very end of the 15-minute session that the decision was made. With his last fast lap, Nico Göhler (20/Grasleben, BWT Mücke Motorsport) finally prevailed in the Duqueine D08.

"It's actually the first pole position of my career. Of course I'm very happy about that," cheered Göhler, who shares the cockpit with Gustavo Kyrila (29/BRA), about the time of 1:50.479 minutes. "The car was great. But it was not a perfect lap. I'm sure it could have been a bit better. Because the conditions were challenging. When we went out, the track had an asphalt temperature of three degrees. You have to work really hard to get the tyres in the window."

Just 0.087 seconds behind, second place went to fellow marque member Xavier Lloveras (23/ESP, Mühlner Motorsport). Third was Jacob Erlbacher (23/Böblingen, Gebhardt Motorsport) in another Duqueine, starting alone just like Lloveras.  Erlbacher was 0.454 seconds behind the leader.

Fourth place was also secured by a solo entrant. Nigel Moore (31/GBR, Aust Motorsport) was 0.662 seconds behind in the Ligier JS P320. The top five was completed by the Duqueine of Oscar Tunjo (27/COL) and Julien Apothéloz (22/CHE, both Van Ommen Racing by DataLab), which Apothéloz drove in qualifying.

Sunday's Prototype Cup Germany race at the Nürburgring will start at 15:15 and will be streamed live for free on youtube.com/adacmotorsports. "We're going into the race highly motivated," says pole-setter Göhler. "When you're in front, of course you want to win. It counts to complete a flawless race. We are also looking at the overall standings, where we can still finish third."
